The new Forum Channels feature will allow server owners to organize conversations. Forum channels act like threaded topics of conversation that direct users to talk about a specific topic. It is easy to interrupt conversations on busy server.

Forum channels are similar to sub- channels and can be used by server owners to branch off conversations about particular topics or to avoid creating another channel for focused conversations.

Forum Channels are similar to Threads and Text in Voice in that they allow focused conversations to thrive. It's no longer possible to watch an interesting discussion get drowned out, hijacked, or abandoned. Every conversation has a place on the platform.

Community server owners can create an unlimited amount of forum channels. It should help steer conversations in general sections of the server and give a more structured and lasting alternative to the temporary threading system that is currently being used.

Forum channels have their own set of permission, and server owners can create guidelines for each forum to help members understand what the channel will be used for. Most bots and apps that help moderate threads should work.

After months of testing, the Forum Channels feature is about to be rolled out. It was a day after the launch of voice calls for consoles. In a move that will improve cross-play in games, Xbox players can now join Discord voice calls from their consoles and chat to friends on PC.
