ScreenKit, an app that has topped 12 million downloads to date, is ready to embrace the new Lock Screen customization options that will ship with the release ofiOS 16 on September 12. The soon-to-be updated ScreenKit app will allow you to add more than 100 new widget options to your Lock Screen, making it an even more comprehensive solution for you.

ScreenKit will come out of the gate with a collection of over 100 custom widgets across over 200 pre-made Lock Screen themes.

The app already has over 500 Home Screen themes and over 200 Home ScreenWidgets, as well as over 5,000 custom app icons.

The company says that each of the 25 major categories can be tailored in a variety of ways.

The updated app will include a clock, time, date, battery, calendar, music, steps, utilities and weather.

Users will have their final, customized designs remain consistent with the Lock Screen Widget that the company says will coordinate with its existing lineup.

Some Lock Screen widget makers, including ScreenKit, have begun to include actionable ones in the form of app shortcut buttons.

ScreenKit won't be the only one to offer this type of widget. We have been testing a pre-release app called Launchify that is currently available through the app testing playground Airport. You can access your favorite app with a tap on the lock screen after the solution is setup. You can still use Face ID, Touch ID or a password.

ScreenKit will continue to be a free download with a one-time upgrade option of $9.99 that opens up access to the premium version with expanded access to its collection of icons and themes. The company will give away two weeks of premium features and pro customization options on the day of the launch of the new mobile operating system.

One of the larger offerings in terms of both its collection and its reach is ScreenKit, which addresses the needs of users in search of Lock Screen customization options that ship withiOS 16. Around 300,000 new users are added to the platform every month. StyleKit is a separate app that has Lock Screen animations that appear when the phone is charging.

Due to App Review delays, the app may not arrive on the App Store immediately, but the company says it will.
