The Inspection has a powerful new trailer from A 24.
The film, which will close this year's New York Film Festival in October, is based on his own experience as a young, gay, Black man who spent a decade in a state of homelessness before joining the Marines.
The film stars Jeremy Pope as Ellis French, who is homeless and resentful of his mother, Inez, who rejected him. He decides to join the Marines, where he is subjected to discrimination, abuse, and prejudice by his superiors.
Ellis finds a sense of purpose and strength in his peers and might even find a sense of belonging.
The film will be showing at the NYFF in October.
