The mod that replaced Spider-Man's Pride flags with American flags has been removed from the website. The popular video game modification website firmly asserted its stance in favour of diversity and inclusivity while condemning the uploader as a "coward."

"It was clearly done to be a troll mod," wrote Nexus Mods in a strongly-worded post on Wednesday. The user's intent to troll was shown by the fact that they had to make a puppet like a Coward to get the mod uploaded.

The mod for the Spider-Man Pride flag was uploaded by a person who already had a main account on the website, according to the website. Further evidence that the mod was designed to upset others was provided by using the name "Mike Hawk". It was simply a decision to suspend both accounts.

"As a private business, we have a right to choose what content we do and do not want to host on our platform," wrote Nexus Mods. You should respect this right the same way you would respect your rights.

A mod is a fan-made content which changes an element of an official video game. Everything from storylines to a character's appearance can be altered by mod. Adding new furniture options to The Sims is one example of a fun change.

Today, it was shown that mod can be used for less wholesome purposes. It has been made clear that there is no time or patience for such mod.

According to Nexus Mods, they are for diversity. If we think someone is uploading a mod on our site with the intent to be against diversity then we will take action against them. The same goes for people trying to cause a rise by trolling others.

"We don't want to argue with you," wrote the Mods. "If this policy upsets you, if we've broken a moral code of conduct as a business that you can't accept, please get rid of your account."

There are many mod database websites that have removed the mod. The users of the Spider-Man Remastered flag mod were banned by ModDB.

ModDB does not target marginalised groups and is an inclusive environment for all. We have a zero tolerance policy when it comes to this kind of content.
