According to MacRumors, 9to5Mac, and AppleInsider, Apple is going to show ads in the App Store. You can already see the ads in the search tab and in search results.

The larger card format used by other content in the Today tab will show ads in a blue box under the app's name. There are ads in individual app pages that suggest apps related to the one you are interested in. The ads on app pages will be highlighted in blue to differentiate them from other recommendations. Ad buyers won't be able to target specific applications for these ads, but the ads will be relevant to the app they're shown under.

Apple is going to start testing the ads soon

Apple said in a statement that it provides opportunities for developers of all sizes. Similar to our other advertising offerings, these new ad placements are built upon the same foundation and will adhere to the same strict privacy standards. The new ads will be tested soon. A request for comment was not immediately responded to by Apple.

Apple began showing ads in App Store search results in 2016 and asked users for permission to show personalized ads in September According to the new ads, Apple is exploring new ways to make money from the App Store and that ads could become a more important pillar for the company as it continues to grow its services business. We are going to have to sift through more blue boxes because of the new advertisements.
