The California Department of Insurance said that Q'orianka Kilcher had been charged with workers' compensation insurance fraud.
According to a statement from the department, Kilcher was injured on the set of the film "Dora and the Lost City of Gold." She was an actress on the popular television show "Yellowstone" from July to October of that year. According to the release, Kilcher started receiving disability payments five days after he finished working on "Yellowstone."
Kilcher collected nearly $100,000 in disability benefits over the course of a year. She is scheduled to appear in a Los Angeles court in August.
The doctor on Kilcher's claim stated if they had been aware of her employment history, they wouldn't have granted her the disability payments.
A Paramount Network series called "Yellowstone" has been a big hit on cable and streaming. Kevin Costner is nominated for an award for his role in the show.
Requests for comment were not responded to by Kilcher and her representatives. Michael Becker, Kilcher's lawyer, said in a statement that the actress will defend herself and ask that she be given the presumption of innocence.
