The star of "The Sopranos" is dead. The celebrity website has confirmed. One of Tony Soprano's main guys was played by Tony. Robert announced his brother's death on Facebook, saying "It is with great sadness, but with incredible pride, love and a whole lot of fond memories, that the family Gennaro Anthony "Tony" Sirico wishes to inform you of his death." Tony died Friday morning according to Robert. According to sources connected to the family, Tony had been living in an assisted living home in Fort Lauderdale for a couple years and had been in failing health. Tony won 2 Screen Actors Guild Awards for outstanding performance by an ensemble cast for his role in Sopranos. He tried out for the role of Tony Soprano's Uncle Junior, which ended up going to Dominic Chianese. He was given the role of Paulie. He played a mobster in a number of movies, including "Goodfellas," "Mighty Aphrodite," "Gotti," "Copland" and "Mickey Blue Eyes" The two of them went to Iraq for a rally for the troops.
