Chris Bassitt, a pitcher for the New York Mets, said on Thursday that MLB should stop testing and that he wouldn't inform the team or the league if he feels a symptom in the future.
Bassitt was put on the COVID-19 list after complaining about sluggishness. He missed his start against Texas and only returned to the team Thursday.
Bassitt said before the Mets' opener that he probably wouldn't do it again. There is no way that can happen. There's nothing to explain it.
Bassitt said he was normal.
Don't be testing." He said that acting like Covid is worse than other things. I was fine.
A positive test could mean ongoing testing that keeps a player out for an extended period.
He said that he never should have made a statement.
Bassitt said he felt sluggish because he has a daughter.
I'll be safe if I can. I took the test. It was good. I had the choice to tell them so they wouldn't know I was protecting my teammates or not. I didn't have any symptoms. I slept well the next day. He said that he had not had a symptom in a while.
The Mets acquired Bassitt in an off-season trade with the A's.
