Panama City is used by the carrier to connect people throughout the Americas, similar to how Keflavik connects people across the Atlantic.
There has just been a massive improvement to the Copa Airlines ground experience in Panama City, thanks to the opening of the new Terminal 2. Not only is this a much nicer facility in general, but there’s also a new Copa Club, which looks like a huge improvement.
The South Terminal opened at Tocumen International Airport in Panama City.
As is the case with so many airport projects, the construction of the terminal was delayed. The terminal was delayed by five years and was way over budget.
The good news is that this increases the capacity of the airport, but it also looks more modern and competitive than the previous facility. There is a total of 20 gates and eight remote stands in the terminal.
Effective immediately all flights from the new terminal will be operated by the airline.
The opening of the new terminal has led to the opening of a new airport lounge by the airline. The new terminal has a capacity of over 400 people. It is open from dawn to dusk.
The club is named after a Latin American hacienda. The lounge has a living room, entertainment and lounge areas, a dining room and bar, workstations, a play area for kids, and more.
Business class passengers, Star Alliance Gold members, and Priority Pass members are all welcome at the club. Access can be bought at the door.
There are pictures and a video of the new club.
Thanks to the opening of the new Terminal 2 and the opening of a new club, the ground experience in Panama City has been greatly improved. Flying with the airline is an increasingly good option due to the fact that it offers flat bed business class.
What do you think of the new terminal?
