Adesanya won the title over Cannonier over five rounds.

Adesanya used his superior movement and control of distance to win a unanimous decision.

Alex was called out by the New Zealander after he defeated Sean.

We know who the next one is. Adesanya promised to put him on skates.

Adesanya and the Brazilian hold two victories over each other in kickboxing before they transitioned to MMA.

Alexander Volkanovski retained his title with a unanimous victory.

The Australian's slick movement and counter-punching was the difference as he beat his American counterpart for a third time.

Adesanya puts on a show

Adesanya has dominated the division since becoming the champion in 2019.

He faced an opponent who has won five of his past six UFC fights and displayed ferocious knockout power.

Adesanya said he saw nothing in the American's game which he had not faced before despite Cannonier's run.

From the beginning, the difference was obvious.

While Cannonier ran to the cage with intensity, Adesanya wore a wide-brimmed hat and carried an urn with his head bowed.

The showmanship side of Adesanya has made him one of the biggest stars in the UFC.

The crowd at the T-Mobile Arena chanted Adesanya's name as the fight began.

As the bout wore on, Adesanya found a home for more of his strikes, landing a series of body kicks and a straight right in the second round.

Cannonier's only way to win was to kick Adesanya's legs, as the champion avoided most of the challenger's output.

Cannonier tried to get some work done, but Adesanya's defense nullified most of the danger.

Adesanya won a points victory as the crowd jeered at him.

Adesanya liked the story. My life is like a movie to me.

He knows I'm the king and he wants to take that away from me, so he's chasing me.

You know what happens when my back is against the wall. I want to fight him.

Volkanovski outclasses Holloway

Over the course of five rounds, Volkanovski outclassed his opponent.

The pair's previous two fights were close, but there was no doubt about this one.

As time went on, the swelling and blood covering Holloway's face was in stark contrast to Volkanovski, who did not show any evidence of damage.

The big screen at the end of the third round showed a deep cut above the eye of the contestant.

During the grappling exchanges, Volkanovski was able to turn them around in his favor.

After the bell rang signalling the end of the fight, Volkanovski circled the octagon with his fist in the air, confident of another victory.

Volkanovski said in the post-fight interview that he wanted to move up to lightweight.

He said he wants to be in the UFC as much as possible.

I don't think this division is keeping me busy at the moment. I would love to move up a division. I would like to be a double champ. It's time to go.

UFC legend Cowboy bows out

Donald Cerrone
Cerrone has lost six of his last seven fights with the other ending as a no-contest

Donald 'Cowboy' Cerrone decided to retire after being defeated by Jim Miller.

He has fought in the UFC 38 times since he made his debut in 2011.

If Cerrone had won, he would have been the first American to win 24 UFC fights.

Ian Garry remained perfect as he earned a unanimous decision win over Gabriel Green for his third win in the UFC.

The American was out-struck by the 24 year old as he extended his MMA record to 10.
