Happy Hatters make EFL return

After going into the final day needing a point to be sure of promotion, Stockport were crowned the National League title winners.

Their rise was good news for their former boss, Dave Challinor, who left for the Hatters job in November.

They had been in the National League North for six seasons but are now looking up once more.

The rise out of non- league was dramatic.

They had to play both of their play-off matches away from home because of their sixth place finish.

They got their third win of the season when they beat Solihull in the final thanks to a 118th minute winner.
