The Worldwide Developer Conference (WWDC) was held on Monday and features updates to Live Text and a redesign of the lock screen for Apple's mobile operating system. The company showed off a number of new features for its Photos app, which will allow it to better compete with other photo sharing services.

Apple's shared photo library offers a new way to store photos and videos captured by family members in one place. Your main library has a photo library.

Shared Photo Library coming to iOS 16

There will be a shared photo library in the new operating system.

A collective photo feed with up to six users can be uploaded. The intelligent suggestions feature can be used to share photos of a person or a place. This could be useful for parents who want to share their photos of the kids automatically and is similar to Live Albums or partner sharing features.

There will be a way to share snaps to the shared photo library in the camera app.

The camera app in iOS 16 will have a toggle to directly share images to the Shared Photo Library

The camera app will be able to share images directly to the shared photo library.

Contributors can add, remove, and modify photos and videos in the library.

There are options for sharing all photos, photos of specific people, and only photos since this day in the past.

A shared album is a way to work with more people. You can auto-upload features for certain people and animals.

There will be a cleaning feature in the Photos app that will detect duplicate images. If you want to free up space on your device, you can review those images and remove the ones you don't need. The function will be available under the albums.

If your photos are already backed up to the cloud, you can use the storage manager to clear out large photos and videos, blurry images, andScreenshots, and remove photos from the device.

Privacy enhancements in the Photos app are being added by Apple. You need to use Face ID, Touch ID, or a password to gain access to them.

A locked folder feature was added to the Photos app. There is no way to keep the deleted photos from being seen.

The most exciting and fun feature of the mobile operating system is visual lookup. It allows you to pick up an object from your photo and share it with others in other apps. Think of it as an in-built sticker creator.

Now you can make your pets into stickers with iOS 16

You can make stickers for your pets with the newest version of the app.

You can copy and paste styles over multiple photos. If you have a formula of filters and effects that you can use to jazz up your photos, you can copy the changes to other images.

You will be able to redo steps in the edit mode with the new version of the app. If you need to retrace the last few steps, you have to start over.

New memory types like this day in history will be added to the Photos app.

Apple is finally showing some serious feature chops with its Photos update that could give it a run for its money in the photo sharing market. These upcoming updates to the default picture management app can be useful for editing and private images, even if you use a different app.
