Donald Trump has until Friday to explain why he hasn't been able to locate 12 former executive assistants that the Attorney General in New York is hoping to hear from.

A $10,000-a-day contempt-of-court fine for failing to give a good explanation could cost the former president more than $250,000 in additional fines.

The fine had been capped at $110,000 and the contempt order had been lifted, but only conditionally.

There are three hoops that the Trump legal team needs to jump through by Friday to keep the fine from being restored. Molly Michael must sign an affidavit to explain how she kept Trump's documents.

The executive assistants can't be found or why they can't be found.

"Counsel for Respondent Donald J. Trump will provide a supplemental affidavit or affirmation as to their efforts to contact the former executive assistants of Mr.

The Trump Organization may have a last known address and contact number for each of these individuals.

It's not enough for Trump to say that attempts to contact them to get an affidavit were unsuccessful.

What steps were taken to reach the former executive assistants? He wants to know if any of them responded.

The final condition of the contempt order being lifted permanently and the fine being capped at $110,000 was to have Rhona Graff deposed by James' office on Tuesday.
