You want to keep some moments. Some are fun, but may have a shelf life. Those kinds of memories can be relived with the help of the social media platform.

If you add your Highlights to your Stories, they will last for 24 hours.

There are a few conditions that need to be met before it is possible to share anInstagram story with others. Here is what you need to know to share your stories.

How to share an Instagram Story

You will need to be tagged in the story to share someone else's story on your own. If you want everyone to be able to see it, the original poster's account needs to be public.

You can still share a story via direct messages on social media, or you can copy the link and share it on other platforms.

How to share someone else's story to your own

If another person has tagged you in their story, you can share it with your own. The story will not be seen by anyone who doesn't follow the original poster if their account is private.

If you haven't been tagged in someone's story, you won't be able to share it with your friends. Check out our guide on how to re-post a story.

If the original poster has a public account, you can also share any post to your own.
