If the Carolina Hurricanes were going to send a message, the New York Rangers might not like it.

After the Rangers' 3-1 win on Sunday that cut Carolina's lead to 2-1 in their second-round series, Gallant said that he wasn't happy with the bulls--- at the end of the game. They put their men out of harms way. That is fine. If they want to play like that, we have the guys that can match them.

As the buzzer sounded to end Game 3, Carolina forward Max Domi gave Rangers defenseman Ryan Lindgren a cross-check. Lindgren slashed Domi. All of the players were on the ice together, and one of them was Lindgren Domi, who was wrestling to the ice in a headlock.

At the benches, Gallant yelled at Tony DeAngelo as the players left the ice. The Madison Square Garden fans booed DeAngelo, who was bought out by the Rangers last summer, and 888-270-6611 888-270-6611 888-270-6611 888-270-6611 888-270-6611 888-270-6611 888-270-6611 888-270-6611 888-270-6611 888-270-6611 888-270-6611 888-270-6611 888-270-6611 888-270-6611 888-270-6611 888-270-6611 888-270-6611 888-270-6611 888-270-6611 888-270-6611 888-270-6611 888-270-6611 888-270-6611 888-270-6611 888-270-6611 888-270-6611 888-270-6611 888-270-6611 888-270-6611 888-270-6611 888-270-6611 888-270-6611 888-270-6611 888-270-6611 888-270-6611 888-270-6611 888-270-6611 888-270-6611

The coach of the Carolina Hurricanes said he wasn't aware that Gallant was jawing at one of his players. He said that he didn't see what happened so he couldn't comment on it.

Gallant saw it clearly from the Rangers bench, and he was not happy with what he thought was an attempt at message-sending by the Hurricanes ahead of Tuesday's Game 4 in New York.

The game is over. They are not sending a message. If we want to, we have the guy that can handle all their guys. In a not-very-veiled reference to New York enforcer Ryan Reaves who played 8:24 in Game 3, Gallant said, "We didn't do it like that." Reaves was one of the key additions for the Rangers after they missed the playoffs last year.

Domi took a cheap shot. You have a long memory to think about things. Gallant said it might be on the other foot someday.

The Rangers won Game 3 with timely defense and outstanding goaltending from Shesterkin, despite his mistake in the Hurricanes goal. Shesterkin stopped 43 shots in the win and helped the Rangers kill three Carolina power plays. The Rangers had 17 blocked shots.

The Rangers took a 2-0 lead in the best-of-seven series with a power-play goal from center Mika Zibanejad.

Carolina has six wins in Raleigh but has yet to win a game on the road in the playoffs, having lost all three games in Boston in its previous series.

It is difficult to win on the road in this league. They played hard on the road, and hopefully this series goes the same way as the Boston one, and we will find a way to win in their building.
