Hemsworth, Miles Teller and Jurnee Smolett

Spiderhead, the new film from Netflix, has nothing to do with spiders. The heads involved in it are truly impressive, and it does have a lot to do with them. Joseph Kosinski is the director, along with writers Paul Wernick and Rhett Reese, as well as Miles Teller and Jurnee Smollett, are starring in the film.

That is quite a resume before you have even seen a trailer, which you can watch below. You can see what the minds behind Spiderhead are cooking up when it arrives on June 17.

Yes, that trailer is a lot. Let's break it down. Spiderhead is based on a short story called "Welcome to Spiderhead" by George Saunders from The New Yorker. Drugs can make you happy or fall in love, but they can also do worse things. The film goes to a lot of places in the trailer. The head of the facility is played by Chris Hemsworth, while Teller and Smollet are among the inmates.

The fact that he is also a producer on the film makes his performance even more interesting. While audiences know him mostly from his heroic roles, this character has shady intentions. What is he doing with these drugs? Is he trying to do good or is it something more sinister? You will have to watch Spiderhead to find out.

Spiderhead seems to stand out in a lot of the movies that are released on the streaming service. In comparison to the others, it has huge names in front of the camera. Expectations were not higher. June 17 is when we will find out.
