Just after launch, the phones tend to have a lot of bugs. In some cases, software bugs or manufacturer errors take both consumers and developers by surprise; in other cases, you will encounter issues that the devs deliberately masked in order to drum up sales.

Since their October launch, people have spotted more bugs and unexpected issues with the new phones from the company. Increased expectations have led to some overblown P ixel 6 criticism, but it is also fair to call out Google for many of these post-launch issues, many of which were caused by monthly updates.

Most of the bugs have been solved. If you are still experiencing one, you can check our timelines to see if a past or future update will resolve the issue.

Auto-rejected calls

The issue was that the phones were rejecting calls from contacts and directing callers to voicemail. There are no call-blocking features being active.

The majority of the owners of the Pixel 6 have noticed that the fingerprint scanning takes too long or too many attempts to recognize a fingerprints compared to other phones.

Some have blamed the choice of an optical sensor for the fact that fingerprints take longer to verify or require more direct contact with the sensor.

Is it fixed? The update in November, December, and March provided fixes for fingerprints. The first improves the performance of your device's fingerprint sensor, while the second and third have general improvements for fingerprint sensor stability and performance.

The Pixel 6 may not be as fast as other phones.

Ara Wagoner gave a tip if the fixes did not work for you. One of the things that may need to be done for the owners of the Pixel 6 Pro is to install a screen protector that doesn't interfere with the in-screen scanner. The phone lets you store up to five prints, so you should register your fingerprints twice. The phone is more likely to recognize your print if you have at least one saved profile.

The issue was that many owners of the phone noticed the screen flickering. The screen could flicker during brightness adjustments or when locked and unlocked. Users noticed a white screen when the display turned off.

Slow charging

Slow Pixel 6 charging isn't a bug but is a frustrating issue for some people. The new Pixels only support 22W charging, despite the fact that they were designed with a 30W charge in mind. The phone charges up to 50% in 30 minutes, but takes over an hour to charge the remaining 50%.

Older cables charge it slower than average. Without an e-marked cable to support the Programmable Power Supply (PPS), the Pixel 6 can't talk to each other to negotiate higher charging speeds without overheating. By default, the Pixel charges more slowly. You need to swap to an e-marked cable if you don't get 50% in 30 minutes.

What is the fix? If your phone isn't hitting 50% charge in 30 minutes, you'll want to buy one of the best chargers. All of these come with e-marked cables in the box, so they will charge fast without making your phone run hot. Some will charge laptops more quickly than others.

One way to fix it is to buy one of the best cables. It could be that your old cord is malfunctioning after being cooked in the sun for months and months of triple-digit heat, and a new cable may be able to fix it.
