SYRACUSE (WSYR-TV) – Some vacant properties in Syracuse are beginning to look a little brighter through the city’s Land Bank.
Community outreach coordinators held their third event in as many months Saturday.
The volunteers paint plywood and help cover windows and doors of vacant homes with artwork.
Organizers say there’s much more work to be done.
“I’m hoping that this project can continue to grow and move forward and hopefully with it you know it’s a project that can engage all age groups from children to adults to elderly people. I think that’s one if it’s highlights,” said Logan Reidsma, a community outreach coordinator for the Land Bank.
So far, three houses in Syracuse have been boarded up with pieces of art.
