And they just keep coming.
Here’s the latest in our reports on new restaurants being planned for Reno. We sourced the information from public records, industry buzz and other sources.
Candelaria’s Mexican Food is opening a Reno outpost at 180 W. Peckham Lane (Reno Town Mall), according to the regional licensing site and our friends at BuildZoom, an online remodeling marketplace and aggregator of real estate information. The space used to house a hair salon.
Chihuahua’s Grill & Cantina, a popular Winnemucca spot, is going into the old Cantina Los Tres Hombres space in the Sierra Meadows Plaza at 7111 S. Virginia St. Thanks to Dave Bogart for the heads-up; his Bistro 7 restaurant is in the same center.
Sizzle Pie, a pizzeria with locations in Portland and Eugene, Ore., Seattle and Brooklyn, is opening at 190 S. Center St., in the Center & Pine development.
The original Sizzle Pie debuted in Portland in 2007. (Full disclosure: I have longtime PDX connections and love Sizzle Pie.) Here’s founder Matt Jacobson discussing why he’s bringing the Sizzle to Reno.
Taste of Chicago, the Midtown food truck known for its Chicago-style hot dogs, is going bricks and mortar at 180 E. First St., the former home of Men Wielding Fire (and, before that, of La Famiglia).
