Las Vegas shooting: Wife of Salt River police officer critically wounded, on life-support

The wife of an off-duty Salt River Police Department officer was critically injured during the Las Vegas shooting rampage Sunday night that killed 59 people and injured more than 500 during a country music festival.

A Salt River police commander created a GoFundMe account for Officer Francisco Calzadillas and his wife, Jovanna. The fundraising site reported Jovanna was in extremely critical condition and on life support.

The Salt River department did not disclose the officer’s name or the spouse’s identity. However, the agency did say the woman suffered a critical injury and was being treated at a Las Vegas-area hospital.

The agency said the couple were attending the Route 91 Harvest Festival concert. The officer was not injured.

The GoFundMe account had raised nearly $15,000 in four hours Monday.
