Coca-Cola Is Releasing Its First-Ever Alcoholic Drink

Coca-Cola is set to release its first-ever alcoholic drink, exclusively in Japan. Though the release date is still to be confirmed, the brand plans to launch a “Chu-Hi” drink, which is a canned beverage that features the shōchū spirit mixed with flavoring and carbonated water.

With an alcohol content ranging from three to eight percent, Chu-Hi’s are a popular alternative to beer in the country. The drinks are also available in a range of flavors including kiwi, grape and even cream soda.

Unfortunately, it doesn’t look as if Coca-Cola plans to broaden the drink’s release. Jorge Garduño, the president of Coca-Cola Japan, called it “a modest experiment for a specific slice of our market.”

In other news, KITH Treats is releasing a capsule for National Cereal Day.
