Two men who police say were catcalling a woman in Manhattan were viciously beat up by a man who knew the female, authorities say.

It happened on Sherman Avenue in Inwood Thursday morning around 3:30, according to the NYPD.

The two men began whistling in a sexual manner at the woman before the man who knew the lady began punching the pair in the head and face, officials said.

The woman and male suspect are a couple, according to police. Surveillance video shows the lady pulling the man off the victims as he delivers the violent blows to the two victims.

The older 69-year-old victim suffered serious head injuries and was taken to St. Barnabas Hospital, where he is in critical condition, police said.

The 39-year-old victim was also taken to the hospital suffering from bruises to his face, officials said. He is expected to survive.

Investigators believe the man and woman are around 20 years old.

Police on Friday morning released surveillance images of the pair in hopes of catching them.
